Rooftop Solar Will Soon Be Cheaper Than Coal in Europe says a new study, reports Gile Parkinson at GreenTechMedia. It suggests that wind and solar plants are already competing economically with fossil fuel in Europe and soon, even household rooftop solar PV systems will generate electricity more cheaply than coal. The study from Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy notes that even in cloudy northern Germany, solar can be generated at half the cost of grid-based electricity. Ahem, USA, what about us?
Join the swelling numbers of voters TELLING Congress they’ll vote for Clean Energy candidates here: http://signon.org/sign/we-are-the-clean-99?source=c.em.cp&r_by=487176 . This is an ongoing campaign (the next Congressional election is this year!) so please, spread the word. It’s our way of telling Congress that a strong clean energy voting bloc is out there. This is how YOU can make a difference.
